Building our House

"Faith goes up the stairs that love has built and looks out the windows which hope has opened."
Charles H. Spurgeon

We are in the early stages of building our home.

It wasn't an easy decision and in fact, when our house sold, we tried to find an existing home for our family.  One house we liked turned out to have foundation issues; the next house we liked was an undisclosed short sale; and the last house we found, the people decided they didn't want to move.

We realized we needed to go in another direction.

We found a little community we liked that had a rural feel without being too far away from shopping, etc.

We chose a sunny lot as we hope to grow some of our own foods.

With paperwork and most of the decisions behind us, they started work on our future home in July 2013.

Next thing will be the concrete walls to the basement.  We aren't sure when they will go up.  We've had a lot of rain this summer and our builder has let us know their contractor is a bit behind schedule.

It is exciting to see the progress.  We were told the house should be complete in the December/January time frame.
