Light, Long Division and a Work in Progress

The sun decided to come out today and we have beautiful illuminous light shining through the front windows.

The temperatures have warmed up to the 30's and the ice and snow are melting.

In the schoolroom, we are working our way through long division...

Dear son has learned all his major scales in piano...
and has now moved onto the minor scales.

After I finished up the baby blanket, I pulled out an old work in progress that has been hibernating and started working on it again.
(Maybe this time I'll finish it?)

This week has been a bit stressful for me; my faith has been weak.  I've been putting too much focus on the negative and I need to turn that around.

It's been said, identifying the problem is the first step.

:-)

I'm meeting an old friend for coffee on Saturday and am looking forward to seeing her.

How has your week been?
What projects are you working on?

I hope the sun is shining on you wherever you may be.

Hugs,
Heather

My favorite verse has come in handy this week:

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

  3. I love the light and shadows this time of year. I took a picture the other day that I am saving for a Picture Thought on Monday's blog post. I'm sorry you've been having a rough week, Heather. We all struggle at times, and since you visited over at my blog today you know I definitely do. But we are reminded that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Your beautiful afghan is just amazing, Heather.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and a fun date with your friend!

    Hugs,
    Dianna xo

  4. Hello Heather,

I am sorry you have had a rough week this week. We all go through times when we focus on the negative. Since you have visited my blog today, you know that I most certainly do. Hebrews 11:6 encourages us that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend...enjoy that coffee date with your friend!

    Hugs,
    Dianna

  5. I've admired you though your blog for a long time. You're industrious, creative, and all about your family, home and spirituality. Maybe you need to have a break. This time of the year brings out the gloomies in many people. It's nice that you had a sun shiny day today. Hope you see many more.

    1. Thank you for your kind words Sharon. This time of year is a little dreary; the holiday celebrations are over and spring is still a couple of months away. Thank you, Heather

  7. This time of year is testing for a lot of people, it is a big down after the wonderful celebrations and the gloomy winter weather. Its always nice to have some me time so fingers crossed you will feel stronger and more positive when you have had a visit with your friend. The blanket is stunning, a real delight.

  8. I have a habit of letting the negative invade my thoughts as well - especially during the cold dark winters. I am noticing the light a lot more this year than I have in the past. Congrats to your son on the awesome piano knowledge! My oldest (6) started piano about 6 weeks ago, she is loving it, and I am loving having another piano player in the house besides me!

  9. I have been tested a bit myself this week, I need to be better at looking at things as a gift in hiding rather than a negative.

  12. Such a pretty project, and I love the way you stage them. I have to decide what projects to work on. Though I did just find a stash of baby yarn, maybe I'll make a baby blanket out of it. :)
