Around the Meadow

Greeeeeeen Acres is the place for me!

Does anyone remember that show?  I remember seeing reruns growing up.

Here is dear hubby riding the new John Deer for the first time.  Most of our yard is still dirt, but the portion undisturbed by construction has grass.  I rode on it last night and cut the side yard, it was a lot of fun.  I was "hee hawing" and "yippee ki yaying".  The little one took a video of me being goofy, but I won't share it with you here.

The "new addition" (puppy) is taking center stage in all our lives.  Look at the grin on dear son's face.  I had to share his happiness with you "guys".  Isn't he handsome?  And he has a sweet heart to boot.  We are so very thankful for this little boy in our lives.

I started a small crochet project.  But, as you can see, I haven't gotten very far.

I found this pretty stitch pattern in Robyn Chachula's Crochet Encyclopedia.  Dear hubby gave me the book when it first came out, but I haven't had the time to really enjoy playing around with the pretty stitches in her book yet.

End of school review and prepping for standardized testing is high on the agenda.  This is pretty much what my kitchen table has looked like this week.
Once testing is over, we'll be done with school for the year!

Hope you are enjoying a marvelous week.

Clouds Rolling In and A Sweet Puppy

Doesn't the sky look ominous?

It rained off and on all day yesterday and it looks like we are in for more of the same today.

We picked up little "Blackie" yesterday morning.  She is tiny and weighs just 5.5 pounds.  Her brother, who was going home yesterday morning as well, weighed 11 pounds.

She's been keeping us busy.  It's hard to say if we are training her, or if she is training us?

We don't have any grass yet around the house.  Dirt, plus rain, makes for one muddy puppy.

She did really well her first night home.  She would sleep for a couple of hours, then start to whine and bark.  Hubby and I took turns through the night taking her out.

I'll try to get some better photos after we give her a bath.

I want to wish all you mother's out there a wonderful day.

Happy Mother's Day,

The Hatchlings

One-by-one, the eggs have hatched.

Here is mama robin keeping watch over the first hatchling and her eggs.

They are barely recognizable as birds...

But mama is feeding them and they are growing.

Won't be long and they'll be leaving the nest.

I started a small crochet project yesterday.  Once I get a little further on it I'll take some pics.

We are supposed to pick up "Blackie" this weekend.  I hope she is ready as I know my son is anxious to get his little puppy friend.  Dear son picked the name for the dog.  When we visited her, I thought she looked like a "Bella", but the little one said that sounded like a name a "girl" would pick.

Hope your day is blessed,

Priority Mail

I received a "Priority Mail" package this week from the very kind and thoughtful Kate at Stitches, Scraps and Sparkles in the Sun.

She was having a give away to celebrate her blog anniversary and I won!

Isn't this a pretty color of yarn?  I'm looking forward to working with it.

Thank you Kate!

Grocery shopping and more settling of the house on the agenda for this weekend.

Wishing you a happy Friday and an enjoyable weekend.
