God Has a Plan

I like to remind myself of this, especially when things don't go my way, or when my faith feels "weak".

We didn't get to close on the house last week or yesterday as we thought we might...

But God has a Plan

Our temperatures have been warming this week and all the ice and snow we've had has started to melt.

Guess what?

Our new house, that is being built, had water coming in at various locations from what the builder called "ice dams".

The sun room floor and part of the great room floor are ruined.

There is drywall damage in the basement....

and wet carpet.

I look at it as a blessing in disguise.

We could have been in the process of moving in and had further damage to furniture, books, anything in boxes (yarn)!

I feel like God protected us from this mess.

The builder is taking care of things.
We stopped down at lunch today to see what they were doing.

They have fans going and were bringing in a big dehumidifier as we were leaving.

Our project manager said he had a call into the flooring people to replace the damaged floor.

Roofers were on the roof doing their thing.

And, I'm tucked in nicely at the apartment without the stress of all that.

I'm also happy to report, that with this brief break we've had in the weather, they were able to pour half the driveway today.

:-)

The other half is planned for Friday.

Still Don't Know...

...if we'll be closing on the house this Friday.

There are a lot of items that still need to be finished on the house.

Sounds like they may pour the driveway on Wednesday.

Mid-week it is supposed to start warming up, so that is definitely something to look forward to.

I won't likely be posting for a little bit as we pack up the apartment and make final arrangements with our movers, etc.

Hopefully, next time I post we'll be getting settled in our new home.

If you think of it, say a prayer for us for a smooth transition.
It's been a rocky journey, but I'm sure there are lessons in there that I'll look back upon.

Wishing you blessings for a great week,

Heather

Vintage Pattern

Last week, Mia at Mias Landiv posted a beautiful quilt she made along with a white vintage crochet coverlet.  While her quilt is stunning, I couldn't take my eyes off the crochet piece.

I asked Mia if she could point me in the direction of the pattern, but she said it was a "Lucky Find" and not something she had made herself.  So, I started looking on Ravelry and on-line to see if I could locate the pattern or something like it.

This is the closest I could find.

Vintage Crochet Pattern

The link takes you to an Etsy site where the woman is charging $2.99 for the square (pattern).

My guess is, since this is a vintage pattern, that it is available for free somewhere on-line.  So, I thought I'd put it out there and see if any of you have come across anything like this?
If so, maybe you could point me in the right direction?

One of the things I love about Mia's "Lucky Find" is the beautifully done border.

Wowsa!  Isn't it gorgeous?

I'm going to tuck this away in the recesses of my mind for a future project.

It is timeless in white, but what do you think about this color green?

I'm feeling a bit better today.
Thank you for your encouraging comments on my grumpy Monday post.

:-)

Hope your Tuesday is going great,

Heather
