Hot Tea Kind of Day

Celestial Seasonings and I have been close companions over the past few days.

It seems like fall is here to stay.  Our days have been cooler lately and averaging in the 50's.

I don't want to "jinx" anything, but I feel like some of my crochet mojo has returned.  I hope it plans on staying around a while.

:-)

Work continues on both the scarf and the cable afghan; I'm making incremental progress on both.

I'm trying to enjoy the process more and not just the end result.  Crochet can be a wonderfully relaxing hobby, but I often find myself rushing to the finish line which robs me of the joy of the process.  Kind of like it's the "journey", not the "destination" type thing.

I've been itching to do something for Christmas and I've had my eye on this pretty pattern for a long time.  It's a Freebie, so what's not to like!

The yarn is working out fine so far.  It is a rich deep cranberry color which goes well with the furniture we have in our family room.

I'll keep you posted as I journey through my projects.

Wishing you a blessed day and if you need a cup of tea, put the kettle on!

Heather

  2. I just poured myself a cup of English Breakfast decaf tea, Heather, and it is pouring rain outside and probably headed your way so brace yourself. I think you are very brave to start a cable project, and am glad you are enjoying it. I finished knitting my grandson's bunny he requested I make for him, and just took a picture of the bunny for a post, but am debating whether I should re-embroider the nose/mouth. Wishing you blessings in all you do. xx

  3. That pattern looks so pretty. I love your thought of being in the 'journey' of crocheting. Obviously that is my theme, with my blog called JoAnn's Journey. But I've never thought about it with my crafts. I tend to rush through them too to finish them. I'm going to start enjoying the journey of making them more. Thanks for sharing that. :)

    1. Thanks JoAnn, I've been thinking a lot lately that life is a marathon, not a sprint. It all happens so quickly anyway, it really reminded me of it as we were looking through old pictures over the weekend. Take care, Heather

  4. Love the yarn color you are working on. I too am trying to enjoy the process, the journey, the moment in several areas of my life and enjoy each moment. Trying to slow time a little bit so life will last longer:) have a great rest of your week my dear friend.

  6. Sounds like a wonderful day to me! I love Celestial teas in so many different flavors. I have started the trim on my baby blanket and I am so happy with it. I have two more baby blankets to do in the next few months and have some knitting projects I want to do. So many great patterns and so little time! :)

  7. Lucky you having such great temps to enjoy and feel all cozy in your home with a cup of tea and crochet. Colder weather and crochet seem to go together, especially blanket like the one you are making. Glad you are making one for your own home for a change. I love that pattern and have it saved myself. I've got to buckle down and make a cable blanket some day because I love them so much. I have another doily on my hook...you are shocked, I know. I'm hooked on thread right now. Maybe colder weather will bring out the yarn at my house, but it'll be a while before we get it. Looking forward to seeing your progress on these things!

  10. Something about a cooler few days, tea and a cozy house that brings your crochet mojo right back. Love that throw, it is going to be fun to make with the different patterns in the same project. I am often about the race to the finish, I need to live more in the moment.
    Hugs,
    Meredith
