4th of July Visit

My father-in-law and his wife were here for a visit over the 4th of July weekend.

It was nice to see them and catch up.  Things were busy while they were here, but it was nice to have family in town for the holiday.

We went to the Air Force Museum while they were here.  My FIL served in the Air Force during the "Cold War" and he was able to see the series of airplane he worked on at the time.

We spent some nice cool afternoons and early evening out on the deck enjoying the view.

Our puppy, "Blackie", enjoyed the company too.

(She is finally housebroken, but we've got to get through the biting stage.
For some reason she thinks hands are chew toys.
Those puppy teeth are SHARP!)

Hubby, FIL and dear son worked on picking up rocks in the yard.  It's hard to grow grass with all the rocks and our Ohio clay soil.

For some reason we have brown stripes in the yard.

(Our grass isn't doing very well even with all the watering.)

We had such a nice visit and hopefully, the next time, the house will be more settled and we'll have (all) green grass.

Hope your 4th of July weekend was great!

Heather

  2. Heather, you have such a beautiful home. You've made your front entrance so inviting with the pots of beautiful flowers! I'm sure that your father-in-law and his wife enjoyed being with your family as much as you enjoyed having them. Love your view of the hot air balloons. Congratulations to Blackie (or his owners) for being housebroken! GREAT news! I'm sure he'll learn about the no biting, too. Have a wonderful Monday evening, Heather. xo Dianna

  7. In spite of the yard stripes (what a mystery) your home looks so lovely, Heather, and I love that you have a pretty front porch to sit on. We had a puppy once who gnawed on the corner of a wall! I hope Blackie will quickly learn not to gnaw on the hands that pet, feed, groom and love her...she looks sooo lovable :) I'm glad you had a good visit with your family! xx

  8. I think your house and yard are looking great. I remember sharp puppy teeth, just wait til your little one loses those puppy teeth, you will find them all over the place.
